I am a member of the Société Nouvelle de Massothérapie du Québec (SNMQ) as a Massothérapeute, with the membership number 788-2. The SNMQ association grants me the professional title of Massothérapeute and enables me to provide official insurance receipts. Prior to your massage session, I will inquire if you require an insurance receipt. If so, upon completion of the session, I will provide you with the receipt that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement.
-
Kindly give me a minimum of 18-24 hours notice if you need to cancel your appointment. While I understand that unforeseeable events can happen, I encourage rescheduling instead of cancelling if possible.
Please note, if I am ever en route to your location for a mobile massage and you need to cancel, you will be charged the full amount for the scheduled massage.
Before

During your initial massage therapy session with me, you will be asked to complete a client health intake form. This form will be added to your confidential file and includes questions about your past and current health status. After you've filled out the form, I will ask you about your specific goals for the massage session. You'll have a moment to change in private before the massage begins. After the session is over, I will take care of clean up, collect payment, provide an insurance receipt (if requested), and ask if you'd like to schedule a follow-up massage. For all future sessions, I will ask about any updates to your health status but otherwise, we'll proceed straight to the massage. Please note that the first session may take slightly longer than follow-up sessions.

The type of massage will determine what attire is appropriate. Some massages may require certain articles of clothing to be removed, while others may not. You are welcome to undress to your comfort level during the massage. For Sports Massage and deep tissue massage, it is recommended that clients wear a t-shirt and shorts.

Massage Therapy offers a wide range of benefits and can be beneficial for people of all ages. Incorporating regular massage therapy sessions into your lifestyle can support your overall health and wellbeing through every stage of life. Whether you're recovering from an injury or looking to maintain good health, massage therapy can be a valuable tool.

For the ultimate Massage Therapy experience, the ambiance is key. A clean, organized, and distraction-free space in your home is the ideal setting for your session. To ensure the best results, my massage table is 32 inches wide and 72 inches long, with ample room for me to maneuver and provide you with the most effective techniques.
During
-
If your mind tends to wander during a massage, don't worry, it's normal. Instead, try to direct your focus on the therapist's techniques and the sensations in your muscles or on the rhythm of your breath. If your mind continues to race, practice observing your thoughts without getting caught up in them. Remember, calming the mind takes practice.
-
The pressure applied during a massage is tailored to your individual comfort level and what is safe for the therapist to perform. Typically, an intensity level of 5-8 on a pressure tolerance scale is aimed for, which is slightly below the point where you flinch or tense up. Remember that you are in control of the pressure, and the therapist will ask for feedback to adjust as needed throughout the massage. Relaxing into the pressure, similar to stretching or breathing, can help to release tension and deepen your connection with your muscles. Keep in mind that too much pressure can have the opposite effect.
-
It is perfectly fine to take care of any bodily needs during the massage, such as scratching an itch or blowing your nose. You are also welcome to use the restroom during the session, however, please note that the massage timer will continue to run. For convenience, it is recommended to take care of these needs before the massage begins.
-
It's completely normal to experience certain physical reactions during a massage, such as itching, sneezing, or even falling asleep. These are all indications that your body is entering a relaxed state. Don't be embarrassed, as a massage session is a non-judgmental space. In fact, falling asleep during a massage is a compliment to the therapist, as it shows that the client has found a sense of calm and trust with the therapist.
After
-
To achieve the greatest benefits, it is suggested to schedule regular massage therapy appointments with a professional every 2-4 weeks. Consistently receiving massage can increase the effectiveness of the treatment and improve overall health. Additionally, after an injury, it is recommended to have multiple massage sessions in the same week for optimal recovery.
-
It is recommended to schedule your massage either on a day when you are resting or plan to engage in light physical activity, such as form reinforcement exercises, walking, stretching, and increasing flexibility, on the same day as your massage.
-
It's normal to experience soreness after a massage, which can last up to 48-72hrs (DOMS-Delay Onset Muscle Soreness). This is because massage therapy increases blood flow and nutrients to the muscles, which helps to stimulate the body's natural healing abilities.
